SuperFan Frame of Mind . . . Build your own bicycle

Ever though to yourself ... Hey, it sure would be cool to learn how to build a bike? (if you haven't you should!)

Toby Stanton of Hot Tubes is a master frame builder with a love for passing his art form on to others. He offers "the Coolest" frame building classes on the planet. Personalized one-on-one sessions where he starts with bare tubes and steps you through every step of the process from cutting, welding, brazing, to painting and even custom graphics. You roll out with a custom bike fit to your size, handcrafted, and assembled with the skillful details, usually found only in the dusty basements of Italian villa's these days. No where else can you find this kind of "personalized training" and roll out with a master piece. And yes he can help you bond a carbon rear triangle so you look cool on the next shop group ride.

As a bonus Toby is also one of the most talented and well respected coaches in our sport. He's basically the "Johann Bruneel" of the junior cycling world. You may not have heard of him yet, but that's just because he keeps a low profile and likes it that way. He's built the hottest junior cycling team on the planet under his wing and has been grooming junior champions with top worldwide road racing results for many years. They compete in Euro events and have been knocking down victories among the best young talents in the world. He was also the former director of the Saturn Junior cycling team, for those that remember Team Saturn.

It's hard to say whether or not this dual threat is a better frame builder or a better coach - he's just so amazingly good at both. He's built bikes for the likes of top riders like Frank and Mark McCormack who are well know champions in the USA Pro ranks and last year painted Tyler Hamilton's custom tour bike for Cervelo.

If you've got a free week and some coin, look him up and take his awesome frame building class! You won't be disappointed!

Here's a quick shout out to Tim Paterek as well. He's built some awesome shareware software that's available for up and coming frame builders to properly design and size bicycles. Tim's a great guy and his software rocks! Thanks Tim!
